This was one of the better first season episodes, and the chemistry in this one between Lucy and the late Dick Martin as Harry was great,as was the chemistry between Viv and that guy who played Eddie.Any comments?

Why was Dick Martin let go of after this season? I thought he added a nice touch neighbor wise to Lucy and Viv. I think the writers could have developed his character more so that he would have become a strong semi-regular cast member. Think about it, most sitcom families in those days and even now had funny or wacky neighbors.

I think once Gale Gordon was on board in season 2, they didn't need Dick Martin (Harry Conner) and Charles Lane (Mr. Barnsdahl) any more. Gale was still on Dennis The Menace when season 1 started, and wasn't available yet.

In "The Lucy Book" Dick Martin was quoted as saying that he had been hired for just 13 episodes in Season 1, which he had to work around his act with Dan Rowan. He did not mind not continuing with this series, since he was very busy with his comedy act with Rowan by then anyway.
