What kitten are you talking about? ISmellFine 01-21-2002, 03:29 PM I have noooooo idea what you're talking about. MLB 01-21-2002, 03:33 PM At the end of every show made by MTM productions, you see the letters "MTM" and a kitten meowing. It's a spoof of MGM's lion roaring. Kay Scarpetta 01-21-2002, 05:34 PM HUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH????????? *confuzzled look upon her face* Sean Snow 01-21-2002, 05:54 PM MtM Productions was a company owned by Mary Tyler Moore and then husband Grant Tinker. At the end of the MtM shows (The MTM Show, "Rhoda", "Newhart", "The Bob Newhart Show", WKRP) the kitten would come up and MEOW. As someone earlier said, it was a spoof of the MGM Lion. From what I've heard, hasn't she/he been dead since the 70s? Kay Scarpetta 01-21-2002, 06:10 PM Originally posted by Sean Feeney Snow From what I've heard, hasn't she/he been dead since the 70s? Kay Scarpetta 01-21-2002, 08:39 PM Originally posted by Sean Feeney Snow LOL Karli you kno what I mean! no ferreal, before Kellie clarified that, I seriously didn't know if you ment MTM or the cat Brett Ferino 01-21-2002, 09:37 PM Also, in google groups i found this: I remember reading in MTM's biography a few years ago (like 1996) that the cat had *just* died within the past few years. If I recall, the cat was borrowed from a local shelter and one of the staff kept it for all these years. IS ANY OF THAT TRUE? Central Perk 01-22-2002, 08:10 AM Grant Ticker was married to Mary Tyler Moore? Wasn't he like the president of NBC? Sean Snow 01-22-2002, 06:07 PM Originally posted by frasierlilithCheers Grant Ticker was married to Mary Tyler Moore? Wasn't he like the president of NBC? Yep, he was once the president of NBC in the mid-1960s I believe. "Mary Tyler Moore" (It's official title, there is no "The ____Show") was the work of both of them, and became the cornerstone of the MtM Empire...LOL...having an "empire" named after you must be cool  retrotvfan 01-22-2002, 06:42 PM he was also president of NBC in the 80's too Central Perk 01-22-2002, 07:55 PM Thats what I thought he really liked cheers and even when the ratings were bad he still supported it..like you wanted to know that. Attmay 01-25-2002, 08:08 PM This logo is in danger of disappearing from reruns of the old MTM Productions shows for good. Write to this address: 20th Television (Production) P.O. Box 900 Beverly Hills, CA 90213-0900 and ask them to keep the MTM logo on all prints of shows from the company (News Corp., owner of 20th Century Fox, bought the company that owned MTM in 1997). Especially if they ever release these on tape and/or DVD. It would be a shame to see this classic logo replaced. |
