Was it too female-centric or was it good enough for anybody to enjoy?

View Full Version : Was 'Rhoda' Considered A "Chick Show???" Brian Damage 02-19-2012, 03:55 PM Was it too female-centric or was it good enough for anybody to enjoy? http://www.dvdverdict.com/images/reviewpics/rhoda04.jpg scotsguy 02-19-2012, 07:09 PM I think in the early seasons,it was a lot more about Rhoda and her female friends like Susie,Mryna as well as family life and her marriage to Joe. I feel the first three seasons were the best of Rhoda, there seemed an awful lot of male characters from season4 onwards,Gary, the unfunny Benny,Jack, Johnny Vegas. I liked the fact Rhoda was an idependant woman in the early seasons but giving her a Lou Grant clone in Jack was a bad idea, the MTM Rhoda and the Rhoda seasons 1 to 3,would have never worked for Jack Doyle. |
