One of my ABSOLUTE favorite episodes of the hit 1980s sitcom Growing Pains was the episode called Reason to Live.
In this episode, a teenage girl, Jill (guest star Kellie Overbey), is contemplating killing herself (a story I can TOTALLY relate to, having survived an attempted suicide by hanging my right foot onto telephone wires) but changes her mind after talking to Dr. Jason Seaver (Alan Thicke) about it.
What made this episode SO unique is that Alan Thicke, in character, narrates the tale to fellow psychiatrist Dr. Carl Reinhardt (character actor Richard Roat).
