"Raising Hope" Exclusive First Look: See Which "Jackass" Star Is Stopping By!
Feb 16, 2012
by Kate Stanhope
"Raising Hope" is getting a visit from a real "Jackass".
On Tuesday's episode, (9:30/8:30c, Fox), Jimmy (Lucas Neff) is determined to help Sabrina get over a childhood phobia. The downside? He ends up in the hospital.
The upside? He finds himself recovering next to "Jackass" star Chris Pontius. Pontius plays Albert, Jimmy's nosy hospital roommate suffering from a run-of-the-mill arrow-in-neck injury.
"Lucas looked really screwed up. His character gets bit by a spider and he has a crazy reaction to the bite. He looked more messed up than I did," Pontius tells TVGuide.com with a laugh.
"It was harder for me to keep a straight face."
Although Albert's unusual injury is a nod to Pontius' fame on "Jackass", he says he was "psyched" to do "Raising Hope" precisely because it wasn't trying to reference the MTV show that has also spawned three movies.
"A lot of stuff I've been offered in the past is stuff that is ... just a weaker version of 'Jackass' and that is stuff I don't ever want to do," he says. "I want to do stuff that is different from what I've done before."
