Actor Jason Bateman welcomed his second child with his wife, Amanda Anka, Friday February 10. The couple’s new bundle of joy is a daughter they have named Maple Sylvie. Their first child was Francesca Nora, who is now five years old. Bateman and Anka, both 43, have been married since July 2001.
"I'm going to be a grandfather again," the newborn’s maternal grandfather, singer Paul Anka, said in August. The new baby was likely named after the tree rather than the syrup. Other baby names inspired by nature include Ivy and Olive. Willow Sage, whose parents are Pink and Carey Hart, was voted as the best celebrity baby name in a poll conducted in 2011.
Bateman has lately been fueling rumors of a return of his series Arrested Development. His next film is The Longest Week, which is about a man who is disinherited and kicked out of his comfortable home in a Manhattan hotel. The film will reunite Bateman with Olivia Wilde, whom he worked with in The Change-Up. The actor’s other films include The Break-Up, Juno, Horrible Bosses and Couples Retreat. Bateman’s sister is Justine Bateman, who starred on the TV series Family Ties. They worked together on an episode of Development.
Maple Slyvie? That's a strange name, imo.
