I've been thinking it over, but I thought it would be fun to track down the criminal records of various sitcom characters.

iCarly:
Sam Puckett has been at Juvenile Hall at least four times.

Drake & Josh:
The two main characters have been in jail on plenty of occasions.

The Simpsons:
Okay, they're animated, but who cares? The entire family has been busted for one reason or another, Homer most of all.

Roseanne:
At least Dan Connor, who was busted for beating the crap out of Jackie's boyfriend for beating her.

Family Ties:
There has been the episode where Alex was arrested with a bunch of feminists in order to impress his girlfriend, and I'm pretty sure the Keaton parents got busted when the protested the Vietnam War before the series.

Sanford & Son:
I still remember an episode where Fred Sanford was caught up in some porn bust.

That Girl:
Ann Marie has been busted at least twice. Once in a cavegirl outfit while working as a waitress for a mafia family, and the other time while trying to hide the Bauman's christmas gifts from a potential burglar/scalper.

Christine was arrested while at a Bachelorette Party.

Lamont and Rollo were also arrested with Fred in that "porno" sting, leaving Aunt Esther to go to the police station to bail them all out. :lol:

Debra fell asleep in the driver's seat of her car after drinking too much at Amy's bachlorette party. She had no intention of driving, just sleeping, but she got arrested anyway. After Ray bailed her out, they desperately tried to hide this from Marie, who of course found out anyway. :lol: (Everybody Loves Raymond)

Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer were sent to the slammer in the series finale. (Seinfeld)

Larry and Balki were arrested a couple of times - for intent to launder money (though naive Balki was taken in by a mobster and had no idea it was illegal, and Larry was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the second time it mistaken identity - causing Larry and Jennifer to marry in the jail!) (Perfect Strangers)

The Winslows' troubled nephew/cousin stole a car for a joyride, taking Eddie and Urkel with him, causing all three to be arrested. (Family Matters)

Brad, the oldest Taylor boy, got into trouble with the police several times for breaking windows with friends. (Home Improvement)

Threes Company- Jack got arrested for beating up a cop. Furley was arrested for trying too pick up a hooker. Larry was arrested in the same episode for something or another, I forget. lol

Gomer pyle- Gomer was a arrested for several things including stealing Sgt. Carters car, for stealing money out of a pay phone, he was actually trying to put it back in instead of taking it.

Al Bundy has been incarcerated quite a bit
Hawkeye Peirce has been taken into custody by the MPs more than once
The Happy Days gang spent time behind bars
Laverne Defazio was arrested on Laverne and Shirley when she was accused of shoplifting
Earl Hicky went to prison

Gilligan arrested the rest of the castaways when he was elected sheriff of the island.

Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel were put in jail when driving through Tennessee.

On 'Growing Pains', Carol was arrested when she hit a policeman with a car door.

Good Times:

Florida and James along w/ some protesters got arrested for successfully protesting a supermarket following sickness from the kids' due to consumption of posioned meat.

Michael was arrested in at least two episodes:
1). In a Season 6 ep. when he was jailed on the day of Florida's driving exam.

2). In a Season 5 episode where his behavior became out of control that causes J.J. to step up and "be" the father figure and after bailing from the house, him and Penny get arrested for being in a stolen vehicle.

In the 2-part Season 2 episode "J.J. Becomes a Man," J.J. gets falsely mistaken for a robber at a liquor store and gets jailed, leaving Florida, James and the family along w/ Wilona to come up w/ some bail money to bail J.J. out of jail.

All in the Family:

In the Season 3 episode "Edith Flips Her Wig," Edith gets arrested for shoplifting a wig from a department store.

In the season 9 episode, Edith also got arrested for accidently passing a counterfeit $10 bill she received while being at Archie Bunker's Place.

In a Season 2 episode, Archie inadvertently found himself jailed w/ the people he despises when he inadvertently found himself involved w/ a mob of people trying to an anti-war protest Mike and Lionel had planned to attend.

Gimme a Break!

In the season 2 premiere, Nell finds herself jailed from ripping the phone while in an altercation w/ Swackhammer.

In the Season 3 episode from early 1984, the entire Kanisky family gets jailed follwing a protest of a Spanish site.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show

Mary had to go to jail for not revealing a news source.

Bewitched

Darrin ended up in jail a few times, usually thanks to Aunt Clara.

The Golden Girls

Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose were busted for prostitution.

Mama's Family

Mama and Eunice got thrown in jail after a night at The Bigger Jigger Bar.

The Office: Kelly Kapoor was in juvie when she was fourteen for stealing a boat.

Jessica Tate was on trial for killing Peter Campbell

My Three Sons, circa seasons 8-10: Both Steve and Chip were arrested at different times, parked on private property after hours (Steve with soon-to-be wife Barbara, Chip on a curfew violation with the daughter of Steve's friend). Neither did any time of course. Charley ran afoul of police while in drag after a lodge show -- including a wig! Also, Ernie had to explain to police why he and his friends took some old tires from the Douglas garage after Charley reported the "theft."

Leave It to Beaver: Very young Beaver drives a powered go-kart into the street -- obviously no driver's license -- and he and Wally have to appear before a judge.

:lol: The Jeffersons: Helen and Louise got arrested for breaking into George's store, Later at the end of the episode, George and Tom got arrested trying to break into the Help Center because they wanted to put Louise's and Helen's mug shots on the bulletin board!

On an episode of I Dream of Jeannie Tony is arrested for apparently "killing" Jeannie. Tony was on a ship for a party and the daughter of the guy who owned the ship liked Tony. Of course, Jeannie got jealous and popped in on the party. Tony gave her a piece of her mind and she popped out. Someone saw Tony talking to her but didn't see her leave, so they assumed he pushed her overboard. But it all worked out in the end when Jeannie popped in at the jail where Tony was.

On Hot in Cleveland Elka was arrested due to hiding expensive items in her cellar that belonged to her late husband. She didn't know her husband had stolen them and when the cops found the items and arrested her.

On Full House, Danny and Joey were put in jail when they dressed up as women to go to a sorority party. They went there to steal the seal of their fraternity that was originally stolen by the women.

On another episode of Full House Jesse was arrested and put in jail after jumping on top of tomatoes in a truck on his wedding day.

On an episode of the Golden Girls Sophia was arrested for supposedly starting a fire that burned down Shady Pines. Thank God she was innocent.

On an episode of Mr. Belvedere Mr. Belvedere was arrested and put in jail after Wesley tried to have him deported back to England because he was angry with him. It turned out that Mr. Belvedere was in the US illegally but was able to stay in the US after all.

In the debut episode of Amen, Rev. Gregory mentions being arrested at a protest march at the South African embassy. Of course, Deacon Frye was thrown in the slammer a few times himself. :crazy: :lol:

The Brady Bunch

Carol backed into a car in the supermarket parking lot. The other driver (Jackie Coogan) sued her, pretending to have whip-lash.

In court, however, it turned out Carol was not at fault, and Jackie Coogan was in contept of court.


The Flintstones

Fred was supposed to arrange for parties for both the Water Buffalo lodge and Pebbles' birthday. The caterer mixed-up the 2 events and a clown ended up entertaining the lodge members while dancing girls ended up at the birthday party. Havoc ensued, and everyone (Fred, Wilma, The Rubbles, The kids, the lodge brothers, the clown, the dancing girls and the caterer) ended up at the police station, where they tried to clear up the confusion.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show

Mary had to go to jail for not revealing a news source.

Several of the characters have been arrested in one way or another.

Billie was arrested in one episode when she refused to name an informant in one pending case.

Dan was arrested after trying all he could to insult the new jerk of a judge that replaced Harry in one episode.

Christine was arrested in one episode and was in a women's prison, I think.

Wasn't Harry arrested at one point during Night Court, too? I remember him getting arrested for criticizing one of the new judges in one episode and getting the book thrown at him.

I just thought of a few more.

On an episode of Frasier, Frasier is arrested for picking up a prostitute. When he picked "her" up, he didn't know "she" was a prostitute, it was pouring rain and he was only trying to be nice. It turned out that the prostitute was a guy in drag, and then we find out that it was just a fantasy that Frasier was having and it turned out completely different for him.

On another episode of Frasier, Frasier and Daphne are at a picket line and when people are being arrested Frasier leaves. When he leaves he forgets about Daphne and she gets arrested.

On an episode of the Golden Girls Dorothy and Stan are arrested for being slum lords. In the end, the charges were dropped against them but as their punishment they had to spend some time alone together in one of the apartments they owned.

On another episode of the Golden Girls the girls were arrested for picketing on a dock for the mistreatment of dolphins. Dorothy's boyfriend who was played by Dick Van Dyke was able to get the charges dropped against them.

Mr. Belvedere

In addition to the Deporation episode where Mr. Belvedere was arrested.

Kevin gotten himself arrested in the Season 1 episode "What I Did for Love?" when he was trying to impress his animal-activist girlfriend when he went into a store and sprayed painted a mink coat.

on Bosom Buddies Kip and Henry went to jail after Henry buys a stolen VCR, then the guys form a song and dance number with the other inmates - which is of course cut from the DVD set :(

That episode was hilarious. :lol: Poor Kevin was getting hit on by some creepy guy in the prison (Charles Fleischer). :crazy: Tricia Cast, who played the girlfriend, went on to soap opera fame on Santa Barbara and The Young & The Restless, winning an Emmy for the latter. :cool:

Even Marsha was playing off what happened to Kevin throughout the ep. until towards the end and even wore the painted on mink at the end too! :lol:

Just about everybody has been in holding at some point on Night Court. I'm also pretty sure Dan Fielding has had a lot of run-ins himself or so it's implied. The dude is shady, this is why I don't think he'd, ahem, be good at romance. (implied date surprise sex offender) If you know what I'm saying.

WKRP in Cincinnati:

Dr. Johnny Fever was arrested in the hold-up episode at Del's Stereo Store in a case of mistaken identity. He was later cleared when police verified his identity. It was also implied that he'd been arrested on other occasions, for drugs and such.

Herb, Les and Bailey are all arrested in a men's room when Herb is dressed as the WKRP carp and gets into a brawl with the WPIG pig. :lol:

30 Rock - Tracy has been arrested numerous times for alcohol-related incidents. Liz Lemon was tasered & fined for cutting down a "Jewish tree."

Parks & Recreation - Leslie went to jail for a night after getting into a fight with her former best friend. Tom was arrested by Leslie's future boyfriend Dave after he thought he was peeping when he was really just on a stake-out ordered by Leslie.

Community - Jeff was arrested after Chang sent him up for kidnapping, but then Chang wound up being arrested for the kidnapping.

Arrested Development - well...George Bluth Sr, obviously - his arrest for fraud is the premise of the show. But Michael has also been arrested a few times because of connections with his father. George Michael, GOB and Lindsay were arrested for shoplifting although only GOB shoplifted.

The Simpsons - I'm pretty sure everyone in the main cast has been arrested at least once.

The Flying Nun: Sister Bertrille went to jail related to traffic/parking violations.

Mork & Mindy/Mindy also went to jail for not revealing a news source (or whatever it was).

And Mork himself was arrested for trying to break Mindy out of jail
