is it me or could they have kept it going if the ratings had stayed??

The show was funny, but I don't know how much longer they could have gone with it. After six years they would know almost everything. It was funny in the beginning because there was so much they didn't know.

I agree. You can only play the "Fish out of Water" scenario for so long. I'd rather see a show bow out gracefully early than linger like a bad smell. 3rd Rock had a wonderfully strong cast and extremely clever writing. I'd like to see more shows of this caliber.

too bad NBC hates edgy comedies now

I think it ran just long enough but NBC never treated it well. It had a different timeslot most of the years it ran. It should have been on Must See TV Thursday with Newsradio instead of all those bad sitcoms they tried to put after Friends and Seinfeld.
