Granted both were from the minds of MTM studios, but which broadcasting workplace was more dysfunctional than the other? My vote goes for WKRP...

I gotta go with the WKRP studio...at least WJM had only one incompetent (Ted). WKRP had three (Les, Herb, and the Big Guy)!!!

True, although you may have to add Dr. Johnny Fever to that list too. ;)

Gotta give my vote to WKRP on this one. Dr. Johnny Fever was obviously and openly on several types of drugs and I can recall a few times when he went on the air as high as a kite. I believe that Tim Reid's character was his pot smoking buddy from way back as they made it clear they had known each other prior and shared many "good times" years earlier,

WKRP, hands down. WJM was pretty dysfunctional, but like Monika said, it was just mainly Ted. WKRP pretty much had everything against them. There were only a couple people who truly knew what they were doing.

I go with WKRP also.

And with the three mentioned above, its funny how they were the carry overs into the NEW WKRP show.

Not a surprise that it didn't work when you take the 3 most dysfunctional characters and make them your leads!

Yes WKRP was diffintily more dysfunctional. The gang at WJM got along better too, and like you guys say Ted was the only incompentant they had. Another question does come to mind tough, which one was more of an underdog? I think it was WKRP, but WJM seemed to only have one writer, one newscaster, and after Gordy (I think thats how its spelled) left they dont even have a wealtherman.
