That's a very fast announcement, the 2nd season isn't even out yet. Maybe this is good news that the full series will be released quickly like Dennis The Menace was.

I just read that on the TVShowsondvd website. Wow, that is the best news! Ready to buy S2 next Tuesday and in three short month S3 will be out! All I care about is getting S2, S3 and S4. Not planning to buy S5 if they do release it. :D

This is great news. I wish Shout Factory would get the rights to 'My Three Sons'.

You and me both, OldGrouch. I have seasons one and two of MTS and would like to get the rest of the "Bub" seasons starring William Frawley. He did a great job in that role.

I'll be happy, more than happy:D to get ALL seasons of Hazel, INCLUDING Season 5, season 5 had some good episodes and gets a bad rep. It only had one stinker episode (where Hazel gets trapped into buying an exercise program contract and she acts like a dimwit for the first and only time) other than that one episode, Season 5 was all good Hazel. Better than Don & Whitney? No, but still very good and well worth buying.

I agree that season 5, while not quite up to the first seasons, had some good stuff in it. If Hazel had not been made at all until that year, and had been cancelled after one season, people would be hailing it as yet another "lost" sitcom which deserved a better chance, ala My Living Doll or Grindl. As for me, I kind of like the episode with the exercise program as it features the beautiful Lee Meriwether. Lynn Borden was gorgeous as Barbara, and I think Ray Fulmer must have been one of those in line to replace Dick York on Bewitched.

Lee Merriweather is not what I objected to, she was fine, it was the way the writers turned Hazel into a balling simple minded idiot who was at her wit's end after one day in the exercise sweat shop. In the old days Hazel would have taken on this problem without falling into a heap in a chair and crying like an idiot. This was the only time though in Season 5 and in the whole series for that matter that Hazel did not act like herself. That's why I say Season 5 is still well worth getting, the other stories in that final season were all worthy of watching (& owning). Shirley Booth, you could tell slowed down in Season 5, didn't seem physically able to do the work she did before. In one episode in particular when Hazel shows Susie how to play jacks she needs an off camera help to get up off the floor. She starts to get up, suddenly there's a cut and she's already standing as the men in the scene were just about to help her up. Anyway, the show was still a good one and I love it all 5 seasons.

Somewhere someone mentioned about the lack of extras of the "Hazel" sets, now I for one, never could have imagined we would see Hazel on DVD again after such a long absence from Sony Season 1....so I congratulate Shout for their amazing release schedule. As far as extras, I didn't understand when Sony released season 1 (where it belonged), but Hazel has a pilot without Don Defore and was actually part of the syndication package in the early 90's (my copy is from off-air WOR)...so a perfect copy obviously remains in the Sony vaults.....This would be a perfect bonus feature for any season. If anyone wants to inform Shout of this (could just be that they don't know), I would appreciate a comment posted of their response.

An even better bonus would be episodes of Shirley Booth's 1973 series A Touch Of Grace, like when Shout Factory added episodes of Window On Main Street as bonuses on the Father Knows Best sets.

I purchased the Hazel season 1 set over the weekend. Have only watched one episode but it was really good. Shirley Booth was amazing. My daughter can't believe it is the same lady who voices Mrs. Clause in "A Year Without A Santa Clause". That is her favorite Christmas video.
