In one or two scenes of the majority of episodes of the first five seasons, Ted Knight wore random college/university sweatshirts that people sent him. I'm guessing it was a gimmick to get young people to watch. During the sixth season (The Ted Knight Show), he switched to sweatshirts representing American cities.
