Hi all,

I make my living as a writer and have been fortunate enough to score an interview with Max Gail for a 70's blog I write. If you have any questions for him, please feel free to let me know! I feel very honored that he is giving me some of his time!

That is so cool, congratulations! How about this question....Was Max disappointed that his character was never spun-off to series or was he happy to move on from the character after Barney Miller ended?

What's his favorite episode of the show, and (you had to know this was coming!) what it was like to work with Gregory Sierra! :D

Congratulations, Sue! Well done!

When Jack Soo passed away, the cast broke with tradition and talked to the camera. I've always wondered how that came about. It is one of the best and most touching sitcom episodes ever done.

Do real-life law enforcement officers still recognize him from the show and thus treat hm differently? This seems to be a common occurrence for other actors who have played cops on TV and in movies.

Was Wojo's evolution as a character something that happened organically, or did he have to push for that with the writers?

Does he have thoughts on why it was so difficult to introduce new characters into the ensemble, and why the ones who did stick around worked out so well?

Does he think the show gets enough credit for its handling of sensitive topics and thorny issues when compared to a show like All In The Family? And if not, why is that the case?

Could a show like Barney Miller work in today's television environment?

I've thought of another question:

Besides being a very funnly show, Barney Miller tackled some hot issues.

What was the response like in
having two gay characters on the show??
