Inspired by the "which cases would be good made-for-TV movies" thread, IF certain UM cases were to be made into movies, who would you cast for the main roles?

My thoughts:

Tammy Leppert: travel back in time to get the young Heather Locklear

Blair Adams: Matt Damon

Dale Kerstetter: Jon Voight

Amy Billig's mother: Susan Sarandon

Cindy James: Naomi Watts

I would cast Viggo Mortensen as Robert William Fisher.

I'd pick Toby Maguire to play Christian Gerhartsreiter, aka Christopher Chichester.

Good pick!

I think Eddie Murphy could be a good Wadada.

I'd cast Matthew McConaughey as Larry Dickens! Oh wait...

Anyway, it's somewhat ironic that Dennis Farina got to host UM because he is a DEAD RINGER for Doug Heath, the guy who discovered the bodies of Doreen Picard and Susan Laferte.

Shatner would have to play Jule Caylor!!!

Have you seen the Shatner SNL skit about the Salad Bar??? Plus I can just hear the "life's pretty good" dialog in Shatner's voice.

-Jude Law to play Christian Gerhartsreiter (aka Christoper Chichester, aka Clark Rockefeller)

-Alan Arkin to play the current age James "Whitey" Bulger

-this one's more imaginative: Jason Lively, circa 1985 (the actor who played Russ Griswold in "National Lampoon's European Vacation") to play Kurt Sova

-former NFL QB Dan Marino to play con man Dan Marino

-Lady Gaga to play Liz Carmichael

If there's a more perfect casting choice to play the role of Keith Reinhard than Sam Elliott, I'm not aware of it.

I can think of one for the Phillip Fraiser case... Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

I know they are both two comedians and also british, but they could do a crime drama possibly.

Nick Frost obviously looks like that fat hitchiker who killed Phillip, i can see Pegg being Phillip. He doesn't really look like Phillip but he has hair like him.

They wouldn't do anything like this tho.. they've only done 4 movies together (the 4th being The World's End coming out later this year)

But then again it wouldn't work out because they are two comedians and are british.

Roseanne would make a good Judy Groezinger.....just get ol' Rosey to smoke some weed first to mellow her out and give her that "nobody's home" look like Judy has during the segment :)

Oh, and the actor that plays the caveman man on the Geico insurance commercials? He should play Tim McClure!!!

I would cast Steve Buscemi as David O'Neil, mainly because of his guest appearance as Gordon Pratt in a 1995 episode of Homicde: Life on the Street. Like O'Neil, who was wanted for the 1991 murder of Canadian police officer Scott Rossiter, Pratt got away with committing violence against police (in his case, the attempted murder of three detectives) only to become the victim of an unsolved murder.

I don't know who I would cast as Scott Rossiter, but I would have Richard Belzer make a cameo appearance as someone (perhaps a bar patron) who watches a feature on O'Neil's death on television, opining that the thug got his comeuppance. To me, that would be a clever homage to Homicide, in which Belzer's character was suspected of killing Pratt.

The Annie Laurie Hearin story would actually make a very good movie, or at the very least a good episode of Law and Order (RIP). I don't have a good grasp of any of the main people involved to cast their characters, though.

Anyway,
Marie Hilley- Jessica Lange (Didn't they do this once upon a time? I seem to remember a made for TV movie about this case)

Nelson DeCloud- R. Lee Ermey

Gordon Page- Matt Damon

Chuck Morgan- Sam Waterston

Astarte Davis- Famke Jenssen

Sloth

I'll add Dermot Mulroney's character from About Schmidt (Randall Hertzel), minus the facial hair, to play investigative reporter D.C. Cole from the Dave Bocks segment.

I wish I could find it. It's been so very long since I've seen it. I was 10 when it showed on TV.

I had to look it up. It's called Wife, Mother, Murderer (1991).

I'm trying to think of someone I'd want to be Jim Harrison, but I don't want to hate an actor for the rest of my life.

I would, however, cast Susan Sarandon as Susan Harrison.

I don't have ANY ideas for actors for this one, but wouldn't a movie about the Sara Jo and how crazy that plot ended up be a great movie script?
