Paula 01-20-2002, 03:33 AM What kind of Sunday School kicks people out? I used to get in trouble for ditching SS; when I was caught I was told to go back inside. I am not proud of that.

Kay Scarpetta 01-20-2002, 01:13 PM LOL...I almost burned the Church down in CCD once. But luckily no one saw that so...
Mossopp 01-20-2002, 03:05 PM I've never gone to Sunday School in my life. The only time I ever went to church or chapel was when we were made to go for school services at Christmas and Easter and stuff.
I can't even remember the last time I set foot in a church.

Oh, I didn't even notice, but thanx:)
Simply put, confirmation means that you are not only born a catholic for example, but you know what it means to be a catholic so you may recieve all of the sacraments. To get kicked out is pretty odd. It doesn't accomplish much, I wouldn't think.
Mossopp? Was that information for the heck of it or was that more like bragging?

Nope, it was just for the heck of it. Why? Does it bother you that I don't go to church?

No it doesn't bother me that you don't go to church. You and I are in about the same category as far as religion goes, which would be maybe agnostic. I just didn't see the relevance in regard to what Cara had posted.
Jordan 01-26-2002, 10:13 PM Cara, it's so stupid that they kicked you out just for that. When I went to Sunday School, I hated my teacher -- his name was Ken. And Ken would always scream at me for talking to loud when I was whispering. He was always up my butt and really getting me mad. So I would always make fun of him for stupid things like how fat he was and stuff. Then he got cancer and had to get the skin around his eyes operated on. And after that he'd be even more cranky and yell at me, so (and this is mean, but at the time it was funny -- and it still is) I would call him "alien eyes" because he looked like an alien with the operation he had. Yeah, it sounds stupid, but when you're buzzed from eating WAAAAAAAAAAAY too much sugar, it was hilarious. And he never even so much as kicked me out of the room for poking fun at him -- he'd, as usual, scream at me. :happyface :p :happyface :p

Yeah, cos cancer is just, like, so f#cking funny, isn't it?!
Moron. My grandmother died from cancer and if you had laughed at her I would've knocked your teeth out!
Jordan 01-27-2002, 03:28 PM Well did your grandma ever treat me like crap? No. So I wouldn't make fun of her, that is just too cruel and don't call me a moron again otherwise I'd like to punch your teeth out. I am not mean to people unless they were mean to me first. I am sure your grandma was very kind and I am sorry for your loss, but don't call me names.
You don't have to be Catholic to be confirmed! I'm Anglican and was confirmed four years ago. We don't do confirmation names though. What the term confirmation means is that you are now an adult in the eyes of God and your church. Catholics are normally confirmed around the age of 12 or 13. In the Anglican / Episcopal belief it's not until you're 16. Probably better, I don't think it would have meant so much to me when I was 12, I probably would have been kicked out too.
Liza:
You'll notice that I wrote, "Catholic, for example", meaning that I was pointing out that the catholic religion, among others, requires confirmation. Thanks for your elaboration but I wanted to clarify to you what I wrote. As to your other point about age, you're probably right.
julian bozo 01-30-2002, 05:44 PM What I can't understand is if Cara hated her teacher wouldn't she be glad to be kicked out of her class?
Cara Oatmeal 01-30-2002, 09:50 PM I wanted outta her class but it was unfair that my friend didnt get kicked out wit me
-*Forever*- 01-30-2002, 11:03 PM I don't normally go to church unless its like Xmas or sumthin... Karli for sum reason i can see you as going to church a lot i dunno it prolly hasta do w/ lisa lol

AllIWantIsYourClutch 01-31-2002, 05:11 PM I like my church! It's fun! We have like 5 dfferent teachers and they all suck, but we get APPLE CIDER!! LoL!
And also, we don't get confimation names.
Carmen_Epstein 08-09-2002, 01:30 PM My parents were confirmed and they had my brother and sister confirmed (at times I wish they'd had them committed instead. lol)
They stopped going to church after they had me baptised.
