I'm a first time Cheers watcher, I'm only to Season 3 Ep. 10. So far, Fairy Tales Can Come True is my absolute favorite episode. I had two questions regarding that episode.

The episode ends with super shy Sharon O'Hare and Cliffy boy dancing together at their awkward second date. The following episode doesn't tell us anything about what happened, did they go on any more dates. Were they both just too anxious to make it work out even though they really seemed great for each other and liked each other, and their first meeting was pretty magical?

I think it's kind of odd that they just let the story line end there. It would be one thing for Sam to be dating a woman (at times he's not with Diane) and then not hear about her again the next episode - because we know Sam is a lady's man, and having a date on the weekend is no big woop. But as everyone except Cliff on the episode knew, and Cliff admitted at times, the fact that he had a date with a woman who liked him was huge. We need more closure! Any thoughts on why it was just dropped? Is Sharron ever mentioned in any future episodes?

Also, something that kind of confuses me, is this episode in relation to Little Sister, Don't Cha. When I watched Fairy Tales for the first time I had honestly forgotten about Little Sister. I started watching Cheers, about a year ago and took a long break in the middle of season 2. So I just picked back up in the middle of season 2 and my memory wasn't super great on stuff like Cliff and Annette. (I became a really big Cliff fan with this round of watching, but must admit I paid less attention to him in the first seasons).

So I read somewhere someone saying that Fairy Tales ignores the fact that Cliff had dated someone - and everyone in the bar knew about it - Annette from Little Sister in season 2. I actually didn't remember this so went back and watched it, and now I'm a little confused.

In Little Sister Cliff is able to ask Annette out without stuttering. He's not Rhett Butler smooth, but he is speaking in legible English. That seems like quite an accomplishment considering his reputation in Fairy Tales... and also some other episodes in season 3 (There's one where the two cute girls come up to Cliff and Norm, and they just make one syllable sounds because they are so nervous).

Then also, from Fairy Tales, it was my impression that Cliff had never kissed a woman in his life, and quite possibly had never been on a date. But in Little Sister we see Cliff kiss Annette! :eek2: - rather calmly in the bar. They also have been on at least one date that we don't see. True, with Sharron there is a real connection for both of them, whereas Annette is just going out with every guy she can - doesn't even remember sweet Cliffy's name - but still Cliff was planning to propose to her, so for him he thought there was a real connection - but wasn't freaking out. Also in the beginning of this episode, one of the guys gives Cliff a hard time about not having a date in months. But in Fairy Tales they give him a hard time for not having a date in possibly all of his 30+ years of being alive.

What do you guys think about this? How does it affect interpretation of Fairy Tales? Was I just reading to much into Cliff's inexperience in Fairy Tales? Or do you think that the episode simply discards what happened in Little Sister and sets up a new background concerning Cliff's romantic (or lack thereof) past?

Finally: Does anyone else just LOVE Fairy Tales Can Happen to You? It is just my favorite, favorite episode. It made my cry the first time I saw it. (Also watched Coach Buries a Grudge the same night, I was a crying mess that evening)! Feel free just to discuss the episode because it's beautiful! :biglove:

You will notice this more and more. I came here to see if there is a thread about story line loopholes. I have season the entire series endless times(I like to fall asleep watching a TV show I have seen so I am not really paying full attention) and I have found so many. Just curious about what others think.

I won't bring them up since you haven't seen the full series, but the one I was thinking about involved the closet by the stairs to Melvill's upstairs.
