On this day in 1975, the comedy show “Barney Miller,” about a New York precinct captain, made its premiere. It starred Hal Linden as Miller, Abe Vigoda as Detective Phil Fish, Ron Glass as Detective Ron Harris and a host of others. The last episode aired in 1982.
