I actually remember the premiere; I was quite young, about 7, and there was LOT of promotion for this show, as it was the next big hit from Norman Lear, who's AITF was on fire on that time.

Great show, I still get a big kick out of it.

I actually remember watching that episode too. I was only 6 at the time. It's hard to believe it's been 40 years.

Sonny, I remember the TV Guide ad for it...with Fred in the foreground with that "cat that swallowed the canary" smile and his trademark cap.

God, I miss the 70's, lol.

yeah, and good ol' TVLand commemorated the anniversary by taking SnS off it's regular lineup. Another brilliant scheduling move by a used-to-be-great network. Thanks for nothing.

Oh Please, are you really complaining about TV land not airing the show when it;s complete on DVD and airs on Antenna TV?

Solomon, some people don't get Antenna TV and so what if it is complete on DVD? TV Land should commemorate its Anniversary.

You know what I mean, S&S has been on TV land forever and I'm sure they did something for the 35th anniversary. But this isn't good news because if they are not celebrating the 40th anniversary of S&S, then that means it will be no celebration of Norman Lear's 90th birthday in August

I honestly do not know, I tried watching it a couple of times and to be perfectly honest, never found it relatable.
