On Tuesday, Jan. 10, Scotty McCreery’s first album Clear As Day is officially certified as platinum, making it the highest selling American Idol debut with more than one million copies sold just three months after the release of the record.

Also, Billboard magazine named McCreery No. 1 on their list of Top New Country Artist for 2011, in addition to winning New Artist of the Year at the American Country Awards in December.
