They featured it on "Inside Edition" in a segment about the inside of an arsonist's mind, also alongside the story of the 53 arsons that recently happened in California. Did you see it?

Did you see it? I just came on the board to post the same thing. :) As soon as they talked about the clip and someone videotaping it I told my husband what it reminded me of and then they actually show the clip! They actually show some parts that I don't remember seeing on UM like the arsonist saying "your house is next!!". 1990 UM fan 01-02-2012, 08:41 PM I just came on the board to post the same thing. :) As soon as they talked about the clip and someone videotaping it I told my husband what it reminded me of and then they actually show the clip! What had me for a minute is that I thought the Omar arsonist guy and this recent arsonist were one and the same. Turned out to not be the case. :p TracyLynnS 01-02-2012, 11:15 PM I was trying to do some math on the age of this arsonist and the Omar case. I think he's too old to be this most recent criminal, but someone had made a comment on one of the news sites that this guy had been in a medical treatment kind of place for being a firebug. IIRC, one or both of the "omar" arsonists had been sentenced to hospital treatment. (I could be thinking of a different case, though.) Don't know how true that reader comment is or if there are just so many crazy arsonists out there that any kind of link here would be highly unlikely. One of them did get committed to a psychiatric ward, IIRC. I believe it was the one on the video as well. justins5256 01-03-2012, 02:06 PM The actual arson depicted in the video occurred in August 1988. The update about the arsonists' identification aired on November 14, 1990. An investigator interviewed during that segment indicated that the suspects were 17 years old and 19 years old. The 19 year old was the one who set the fire and made the video. The arsonists would be roughly 38 and 40 today - I say roughly since we don't know their birthdays nor do we know exactly when they were arrested, the update filmed, etc. ILikeTurtles 01-06-2012, 04:05 PM I saw this too. It was awesome. DemonicDwarf 07-18-2012, 09:22 PM I was trying to do some math on the age of this arsonist and the Omar case. Pyromania is a recognised illness. That segment gave me the heebie jeebies at how much he enjoyed it. 1990 UM fan 07-18-2012, 11:36 PM Yeah, he was very creepy. "I said I'll do it, I said I'll do iiiiiiiiit!!!" SitcomsAreTheWay 07-19-2012, 12:05 AM Yeah, he was very creepy. "I said I'll do it, I said I'll do iiiiiiiiit!!!" And then (Insert psychotic laugh here). Matt C 07-19-2012, 12:56 AM Didn't "The Dark Knight" copy this with the Joker home video scene? |
