January 02, 2012

Paramount Pictures is celebrating today. The studio announced it has topped all of the other studios in terms of worldwide box office. They won the pissing contest earning $5.17 billion in worldwide sales.

The press release confirms that the Paranormal Activity saga will indeed continue this fall.

"In 2012, Paramount’s release slate highlights include “World War Z,” a zombie thriller starring Brad Pitt and directed by Marc Forster, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” the next installment in the global franchise starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Channing Tatum, a new chapter in the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, and “The Dictator,” starring Sacha Baron Cohen and directed by Larry Charles, the team behind “Borat.”

Of course, this is a no brainer since Paranormal Activity 3 grossed over $200 million worldwide.

I thought the first one was pretty good; they did a lot on a very low budget and a very simple concept.

The second one was, meh...OK but not really necessary and more or less a repeat of the first. I never saw the third.

Like most horror series, this one seems destined to milk and milk the dollar until any relation to the theme and quality of the first is totally gone. The uniqueness that hallmarked the original is long gone and honestly, it kind of seems like everyone's just going through the motions now, much like the Saw series.

Here Is the Trailer for Paranormal Activity 4!
by Ryan Turek
August 01, 2012

After a few days of teasing, Paramount has finally released (via iTunes Movie Trailers) the trailer for Paranormal Activity 4, opening October 19th.

This entry is once again directed by Paranormal Activity 3 helmers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.

Boasting the tagline "All of the activity has led to this" it appears the series is back on the forward momentum track, picking up where part two left off (three, as it turned out, was a prequel).

What's the point anymore. They're doing it backwards. 3 should've come first and 1 and 2 should be 1 movie
