Sorry to hear that your mom needed surgery and got that fake phone call. Unfortunately some people like to do scams like that. It's sad.

Do you really have a family member named Wayne?

I have heard of these scams, it's usually the grandkid who is in trouble that I've heard on the news.

You just have to be smart and if you really do have a family member by that name, call the member and ask them.

Someone ALMOST got my Mother two years ago. She had gotten a letter from "Publisher's Clearing House" saying she had won $1,500,000, and included in the envelope was a Cashiers Check for $15,000.00 which she actually deposited in her account. She was about to wire $11.000 of that mo0ney by Phone when I stopped her dead in her tracks! She was most upset about this and threatened to call the Police, I did that for her and when they came she found out this was a scam! Thanks to be being in the right place at the right time I kept my mother from getting gypped out of her hard-earned money. The next day the Bank Called and informed her the check was invalid, but her account was still intact. If she had wired that money $11,000.00 would have been taken out of her savings!

I REFUSE to enter any "Sweepstakes" these days, since so many of them are just ways to put you on Junk-Mail/Telemarking/SPAM Lists! :angryfire:

Yes she has a nephew name Wayne he lives in Spokane,Wash, but the weird thing is he said that u and I are close and I need help the real Wayne said that theses spammersor get this info off of Facebook,or Myspace or where ever. One more thing that same night her granddaughter found something in her driveway and she let my mom open it up it was a check for $25.0000 all she had to do is give some back my mom is 82 and really not in good health but ups dropped it off the driveway???? it really looked like it was real so her granddaughter who is smart went to the bank with her and said they the bank told them it was a scam. so mom had her nephew calling from Uata or Iowa wanting ($950) and she thought she had 25.000 and now not true, she joked about it but now she may have to go into more surgery this week and get more shots please keep her in good thoughts I know she is 82 but she is my mom and I love her,but I don't want to loose her we just buried my Aunt last week but enough of this (Just the baby of the family we live in the same town while my sister liss in Washington and she'd down here) my brothers where there some where. Anyways I hope u had a great New yrs and a wonderful new yrs....Thanks Family Ties I am just doing what I am supposing to b doing for right noe ONE DAY AT A TIME.
