20 years ago this fall, we were introduced to Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

The show ran for 5 consecutive seasons on Public Television's PBS and it starred the late Lynn Thigpen as The Chief and Hosted by Comedian Greg Lee and Features Music by the Famed Acapella group known as Rockapella

The show featured V.I.L.E. Villains such as Vick the Slick, Robocrook, Top Grunge, Wonder Rat, Double Trouble, The Contessa, Kneemoi, Patty Larceny, Eartha Brute and Sarah Nade

After 5 years, Greg Lee left the show and the show was changed to Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? starring Thigpen and hosted by Kevin Shinick

This version however, didn't clique w/fans of WITWICS and lasted only 2 seasons

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? was voted in TV Guide and one of The Top 50 Game Shows of All Time

Where in the World is Carmen San Diego? is one show I wish would come back. They could make a new version to fulfill the E/I requirements. It's better than most of the schlock that qualifies at E/I programming.

This was the first five day a week game show for PBS. It turned out to a long-running success with an outstanding host in Greg Lee. It's a shame he hasn't hosted any other game shows since Carmen Sandiego left the air. I'll always remember how he signed off the show when he and the winning contestant both shouted "Do it Rockapella!" Rockapella added a lot to the show and added a fresh approach to game show music.

Actually, Greg Lee hosted 2 other Game Shows in Nickelodeon's Total Panic and Nitro

He is also a Comedian and he even appeared on other TV shows like The Original Ghostwriter for PBS and he appeared on a commercial for Nestle Flipz
