View Full Version : What's The Deal With The Elevator On 'The Big Bang Theory?'
Brian Damage 12-29-2011, 11:30 PM Every episode I have seen so far it is "Out of Order," is there a story or something behind that?

Thanks for that rob!
Family Ties Forever! 01-10-2012, 04:14 AM I'm surprised Sheldon hasn't insisted on the elevator being fixed. We all know how Sheldon likes things to work correctly.
Chocolate Moose 01-11-2012, 04:38 PM maybe that's an idea for a future show.

One of the reasons I LOVE this forum is because you learn about little known details and facts about shows you
ADORE. There was no way I would have ever been lucky enough to stumble upon that particular episode...so I
really feel ecstatic that I got an explanation for the elevator here. And it was a very very funny clip, to boot! Thanks, guys!
TVisForMe 01-13-2012, 04:33 PM If they fixed the elevator they wouldn't be able to have the conversational scenes as they trudged up and down the stairs!
ThomasE 01-16-2012, 01:52 PM It was cute for a while but its time to fix it. However, its a part of the show's staple.
ShamelessFanGirl 02-04-2012, 09:02 PM Maybe they are saving the moment for it to be finally fixed until the final episode of the series.
Riley Grey 02-10-2012, 12:31 PM They'll probably fix the elevator on the last episode. LOL.
ThomasE 02-10-2012, 12:47 PM LOL. True that.
James28 02-05-2013, 09:38 PM I'd hate to live in a highrise apartment building whose only elevator is "out of order" for any reason, especially if I am disabled/paralyzed.
ryan423 02-06-2013, 02:22 AM They'll probably fix the elevator on the last episode. LOL.
I feel like the last shot in the series will be Leonard, Sheldon & co. leaving with boxes to move, and as they exit the shot turning down the stairs, the elevator door opens, and a handyman yells, "it's fixed!"
Yong Fang 04-26-2013, 08:51 AM I lived for awhile in a 7th story apartment with no lift. Not fun, but good exercise. Now I live on the 3rd (lowest) floor and have an elevator.
xBazingaDudex 04-26-2013, 09:53 AM couldnt they show them having conversations on the elevator i know it will be shorter than walking up the stairs but still
MacLeaper 04-26-2013, 10:25 AM The elevator works well as a gimmick- it's a running gag, so I don't know that anything needs to be done with it. (But I don't care either way if it's fixed or not- though obviously, a good landlord should have it fixed of course.) I honestly don't really think about it when watching the series anyway.
Mr. Drucker 04-27-2013, 11:40 AM Trust me,they'll have it up and operational in the series finale.Look for it.
