People saying that Jo and Blair were lesbians. They were not! The writers never intended them to be gay. Even if the show was going on now, the writers would not make them gay. Jo loves Rick. Blair loves Tad, and herself. Simple as. Did people forget that Blair once criticize Cindy for being gay? Oh yeah, Cindy's not gay either, so drop that.

By doing this, you are disrespecting the works of the writes and the actresses Lisa Welchel, Nancy McKeon, and Julie Ann Haddock.

I am even more sick and tired of these femmeslashers writing stories of them being together. The sickening part about it is how many of them out there. They are all over YouTube, LiveJournal, and what not; and they are twisting and perverting an iconic show with these terrible stories and videos. I've watched FoL since the beginning (1979), and it don't see any lesbian subtext ANYWHERE. It makes as much sense femmeslashing them as slashing Starsky and Hutch; don't get me started on that one.

Yes, I do know about The Big Gay Show sketch and those porn parodies. Well, just because it's on TV doesn't mean it could be true, they're no better than those femmeslashers.

In short, let me summarize it up to you femmeslash fools:

Blair is not gay
Jo is not gay
Cindy is not gay

Do the vast majority of FoL fans a big favour, and stop femmeslashing them! End of story.

P.S. I saw the other day at some site that some foolish femmeslasher is pairing up another two members of FoL. It's not Jo and Blair, but to the writer of that story, if you are reading this then could you please STOP IT! That pairing even makes less sense than Jo/Blair and you got even less material to work with.

Oh cool they were gay?

Nah man, that's the point. They are not gay, yet people write stories to make them gay. It's just plain sick and insulting.

The people who do it only do it as a hobby. They know that Blair and Jo aren't really gay, but for them it's an interesting plot to play with and create stories around. There's nothing sick or insulting about it.

People also write stories where one of the characters dies. Does it mean they think that character actually died? No. Does it mean the want that character to die? No. It's the same as with the "femslash" stories, they're just bored writers who are having a bit of fun with the characters. Nothing to get upset about, people do it for EVERY show.

You can't force people to stop writing these stories, because they're doing nothing wrong. Conversly, they can't force you to read those stories or write stories like that yourself. To each their own, live and let live.

Bottom line: It's a long standing part of internet fandom. It's been going on for years, and it's not going to stop. If you don't like it that's fine, there is a lot of "purists" out there who object to non-canon shipping (that's writing stories involving romance between characters who aren't romanticaly involved). If it's really bothering you and you don't think you will be able to co-exsist peacefully amoung the fans who ARE into that sort of thing, then internet fandom just isn't for you. Just enjoy the show from the comfort of your living room.

Not doing anything wrong? Except turning Blair's and Jo's friendship into a sick joke. I'm sure there are many of us fans who would like to read/write FoL stories but got turned off because of that Jo/Blair nonsense. You're right, it's Internet freedom, but it comes at a cost.

By the way, why is it Jo/Blair and not Blair/Jo? After all, Blair was on the show longer and was more prominent. See you can't take out the importance of a masculine/feminine role even in gay relationships.

I don't get what you mean. These stories don't affect the show. Besides, Blair and Jo are fictional characters after all.

I'm sure there are many of us fans who would like to read/write FoL stories but got turned off because of that Jo/Blair nonsense. You're right, it's Internet freedom, but it comes at a cost.

But if you're complaining about there being too many femslash stories, why not combat it? You could be one of the authors who boycotts non-canon pairings. You can't really complain that not enough people are writing non femslash FoL fanfics if you aren't writing any either.

I'm not saying you have to write fanfics, I don't write any myself because I always lose interest before I finish, but being scared away by Jo/Blair stories is a pretty flimsy excuse.

As far as reading fanfics go, MOST authors put in the description if it's a Jo/Blair story because there are a lot of people who don't wish to read that sort of thing. Simply avoid those stories.

[COLOR="Red"]What exactly is the deal with this guy, anyway? Are you familiar with the first amendment? It's called Free Speech. You certainly don't have to like any of these stories. That being the case, here is "your" solution: don't read them. That wasn't too hard to solve was it? Now you can go back to the good old days, can't you?
BTW, I am of the opinion that the YouTube videos this guy describes as "sickening" are about 100 times more interesting than this show ever was. Jo/Blair and who cares about the others?

I really don't understand how posters like this think. I meant the moral compass is so far off it's ridiculous. If FOL characters were portrayed as robbing a bank, this poster would not be complaining. If FOL characters were potrayed as going on murdering spree, this poster would say nothing. Did this poster complain about an episode of FOL where a teenager girl committed suicide? I am almost certain that they did not. And yet, somehow, if someone portrays Jo and Blair as lesbians, the poster is all up in arms and has to fire off several thinly disguised homophobic posts, because if either Blair or Jo refers to somebody as their "wife" civilization will come to an end. Absolutely ridiculous.
Opposition to same-sex marriage is clearly dying and the end can't come soon enough IMO. I think it may not be the gays&lesbians who were "brainwashed."
