Since I did not see a review for Season 1 of I Love Lucy I thought I would ask the question here. Why are almost all of season 1's episodes rather short compared to the next 5 seasons? They seem to run between 23 and 24 minutes where the next 5 seasons seem to run around 26 minutes total. If this was covered just point me to a thread please.
Thanks

Are you talking about the DVDs or the actual show on TV?
If you're talking about the DVDs, the episodes are uncut and restored. They were longer when they originally aired to allow for in-show commercials and stuff for Philip Morris, and since you cannot advertise cigerettes now, they had to cut the animated opening sequences and promo spots leading into the episode. It was actually cool on the Season 6 DVD where you had the choice of the "Heart in Satin" credits or the Vintage Opening credits.
