It's Official: MTV to Revive "Punk'd" with Producer Ashton Kutcher

It's official: MTV is bringing back "Punk'd".

After many months of speculation, the younger-skewing network announced its plans to revive the popular prank series with Ashton Kutcher and his partner Jason Goldberg attached as executive producers once again.



MTV will unveil first look footage and announce the series' host --or, more likely, hosts-- during its New Year's Eve telecast on the 31st.

It was heavily rumored that Justin Bieber will be taking over hosting duties but we will all have to wait for New Year's to get the official announcement.

MTV Reveals "Punk'd" Reboot Sneak Peek Of Miley Cyrus, Kelly Osbourne & Khloe Kardashian

Ashton Kutcher is passing the Von Dutch hat-sporting "Punk'd" hosting duties when the celebrity pranking series returns to MTV on Mon., March 19.

The show will have a different celebrity host each episode, MTV recently revealed and among them are:

Justin Bieber
Miley Cyrus
Kellan Lutz
"Jackass" star Bam Margera
"Punk'd" alum Dax Shepard





Now that it's 2012, the pranks, MTV claims, are funnier, bigger and better. Plus, viewers will now get to see what goes on behind-the-scenes to pull off a successful "punk," if you will.

"There's a new generation of unsuspecting suckers just waiting to be 'Punk'd' by their famous friends, and fans will once again have a front row seat to see the shock on the faces of their favorite celebs," Van Toffler President MTVN Music Group, LOGO and Film, said in a statement.
