Go with the family when they made the move from Bryant Park ,Kansas to Los Angeles,California, because I don't ever remember him being in the California episodes.

Yes. It might have been a different real-life dog, but Tramp was in Calif.

As an example, in the first Calif. season, there was an episode where the boys went to a basketball game, and there was a storm--Katie was alone in the house. Tramp was her only company--and her 'protector'--but all he wanted to do was hide.

I watched an old recoding of that ep just recently. The ep is not believable, but it is funny. And MTS is not the only show I've seen where this happen, but why would anyone leave windows up when a storm is coming, and leave them up after it's there? And when all the guys in the house are wakened by the thumping pump and "investigate," you just can't believe Katie would sleep soundly through their yelling and all. And when Katie calls Steve in San Francisco at 1 a.m., while she is alone and scared, she does not even mention the one real thing to be concerned about-- that Robbie, Chip, Ernie, and Uncle Charley are 2 hours overdue. As for Tramp, yes, he proves to be of no use as Katie's protector-- at least as for helping her not to be scared of a storm and strange noises-- but he seems to disappear when the lightning flashes and she runs downstairs. Upstairs he runs with her, then downstairs he is not there. And what was she doing anyway?... getting her coat about to run out of the house into the storm because of lightning??

As for the window being left up, I'm assuming that the director wanted to leave that, as the wind blowing the curtains further indicated the storm's presence.

Tramp's other notable CA appearances: He crashes both Robbie and Steve's weddings, he's like a big lion when little Dodie walks with him (and becomes her dog too), and he fathers pups with Gordon Deering's dog (friend of Ernie's, played by Butch Patrick).
