I just got this today so I've barely had a chance to see very much, but so far, I love what I'm seeing. They've outdone themselves again. I was hoping to see the original jack-in-the-box opening somewhere, and expected it would be that crappy 50th generation copy of a black-and-white kinescope that we've all seen, but when I popped in the first episode (guest-starring George Burns), I didn't expect to see it there opening up that episode, in full, perfect color, and a sharp, crisp image. That was so cool because I, for one, actually like that opening. I hear a lot of people say they don't, but I wonder if they're only saying that because Lucille Ball didn't like it. For me, I think it's a nice diversion from the too-familiar kaleidoscope opening. It's fun and unique.

I also love that the first disc ends with "Lucy Flies to London," then I can pop in the second disc and immediately follow up with Lucy in London. And I finally get to see a cleaned-up beautiful remastered version of that special. And yes, I really like Lucy in London. I know it's far different from the familiar pace of a Lucy show, so it strikes people as odd, but that's just what I like about it. I wish she had followed it up with more specials like this.

There are so many extras on here, I can't wait to check them out. And I'm happy to finally get to some of the good episodes from this era of the series, leaving that wretched Season Four behind. In this season, the show finally settles solidly into the new format. There are some misses here and there, but also quite a few hits. Now how am I going to get my Christmas shopping done this weekend? I don't know.

The series was in transition in the 4th season, it took them a little time to adjust to the new format but season 4 was still a good season just not quite up to the level of seasons 1, 2, & 3 with Vivian Vance. I have season 5 on order, looking forward to it I should have it in a few days.

I really liked Lucy in London! I've never seen it before, and just found it so nostalgic. I like Lucy in anything when she's on location.

As far as the episodes, its just so cool to see them all restored and cleaned up. I was never able to watch the public domains because of the quality.

The quality of some of those public domain releases is horrible. I remember one episode, the audio sounded like it was being played through a wind tunnel. It was too annoying to watch. Now I can finally enjoy these episodes again.

I've never seen Lucy in London so I'm looking forward to it. I hope my local Target has season 5 in stock. I'm going there tomorrow.

Lucy In London is interesting. I've watched it twice so far. It is very different yet still it is Lucy.

As for the quality it is top notch all the way. IMHO, nobody can top CBS-Paramount for their dvd remastering. I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show, The Andy Griffith Show, Perry Mason, Petticoat Junction, The Beverly Hillbillies, Hawaii Five-O. All of these shows look super sharp and clear on dvd, even on a flat screen HD tv which is amazing considering their age. Kudos to Lucy for being smart enough to start filming in color with Season 2 also. She was ahead of her time for sure doing that.

I'm through the second disc on Season 5 and am enjoying it quite a bit. I hope we don't have to wait a year for Season 6.
