Today is the official release day for Season Five, but it doesn't appear to be selling as strongly as the previous seasons. S4 made it almost into the top 200 on Amazon. Currently, S5 is down at 1,393rd place.

Currently, it's only inched up to 1,366th place. :(

Well, I just got mine at Target, so 1 more sold. I hope the release of season 6 isn't in jeopardy.

With Christmas almost here, it should be doing better.

With Christmas almost here, it should be doing better. Let's hope so. This set is so wonderfully done -- big thumbs up to the DVD producers -- and the episodes generally are far better than S4, and in such wonderful video quality. If people realize what they're missing, I think they'll buy it.

I went to Target today and they were completely sold out of season 5 so apparently the series is selling well. Today (12/9/11) "The Lucy Show" sales rank is no. 10 on DVD Empire.

I sure hope so.

Today (12/9/11) "The Lucy Show" sales rank is no. 10 on DVD Empire.

Under what category is it number 10? I looked at list of the top 200 new releases on DVD Empire, and also the top 100 current bestsellers, and it wasn't on either list. When you do a search for this DVD set and then pull up the information for it, there it says "Current Sales Rank: 10." But then it also says "All-Time Sales Rank: 17,500." What does that mean? I don't understand how it can have a current sales rank of 10 if the all-time sales rank is only 17,500. Is that some special category ranking?

Ah, I get it. I just pulled up the current bestsellers and specified "DVD-Video," and it appears that at #16.

But it's down to #2,322 on Amazon. Maybe Amazon offers a bigger inventory of DVD titles so it's more difficult to get a high ranking there? I'm actually not familiar with DVD Empire.
