Many of the fans wrote in to the show asking why they never get to see the Fonz in a fight; I was one of them. In one episode he asked Richie "In all the time you've known me, have you ever seen me in a fight?" Richie answered. "No that's because the other guy always backs down first." I was wondering if it was because of the fans that they had the Fonz say that. Now later; in another episode, where Joanie gets in with this biker club, we got to see the Fonz, along with Carmine Ragusa from Laverne and Shirley back kick a couple of guys, but that was it. I do not recall any eps where Fonzie was in an actual knock down drag out fist fight. Or maybe I just didn't see the ep and was wondering if maybe the show was pressured into what we did see.

Well he did fight Mork. And what about the Tom Hanks as a martial artist episode?

The Mork fight showed why he didn't need to fight most guys.

Happy Days was a family show. I don't think showing violence was something anyone involved wated to do.

the way the world is now and the way it was in 1974 is quite different.henry winkler wasnt allowed by abc to wear his leather jacket when he wasnt on his bike in some of those early episodes, the network didnt want to portray him as a hood.why would they let him fight?then once the show and fonzie became a hit no one cared.the fighting that was done by fonzie on show was usually kinda animated it wasnt like drop dead knock out fighting.the most violent hit was when richie hit fonzie in welcome home pt 2.i would say
