Mark-Paul Gosselaar told "The Talk" the secret to keeping teen TV stars grounded: cancel their shows every season.
Gosselaar, who became tremendously popular at the age of 12 as the star of "Saved By The Bell", explained that the cast of the now-beloved show stayed modest because they had no idea they were popular.
"When we were filming we didn't have twitter, we didn't have paparazzi, no internet.. we all had no idea we were successful. We were just doing this little show that got canceled every single year we did the show. We did 6 seasons but they were like 'ohh, we're bringing you back because we have nothing on the schedule'.
We were doing our little show and we all had fun. That's what kept the show grounded, we were 6 kids and we didn't have big heads because we didn't think we were doing anything that people were watching."
Julie Chen asked which generation produced the girl who had Zack tattooed on her body, and Gosselaar had to correct her before answering, saying that the fan was actually not a girl.
"I think he tattooed me either on his calf or his thigh. I don't know, I wasn't looking too closely. It was pretty colorful too, he has all of the neon colors of the show. I think he actually put 'Zack Attack!' on there too."
