View Full Version : The NBA Agrees On A Deal to End Strike...Does Anybody Still Care???
Brian Damage 11-26-2011, 10:06 AM After nearly two years of bickering, NBA players and owners are back on the same side.
''We want to play basketball,'' Commissioner David Stern said.
Come Christmas Day, they should be.
The sides reached a tentative agreement early Saturday to end the 149-day lockout and hope to begin the delayed season with a marquee tripleheader Dec. 25. Most of a season that seemed in jeopardy of being lost entirely will be salvaged if both sides approve the handshake deal.
Barring a change in scheduling, the 2011-12 season will open with the Boston Celtics at New York Knicks, followed by Miami at Dallas in an NBA finals rematch before MVP Derrick Rose and Chicago visiting Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.

1-Not a fan of Basketball
2-The Cavs are going to have a bad year...again!
isiahthomas 11-26-2011, 11:50 AM I just saw the news today at Yahoo.com and i was happy. I love NBA basketball and i was glad a deal was done. I hope this doesn't happen again for a long time. NBA players need to be happy with the salaries they're getting and stop complaining. A lot of the black players aren't educated to do other jobs. So they ought to be happy they're getting paid a lot of money to play basketball.
James 11-26-2011, 01:29 PM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really wish you can be banned from this board. You add nothing to these boards and everything you post is stupid. WHy the F**K are you responding to this thread if you are not a fan of basketball?
Jaqui-Michel 11-26-2011, 03:31 PM This is the best early Christmas present ever! Now I can watch my NJ Nets with the other four superfans. Go Nets! :D
Pavan 11-26-2011, 03:58 PM Excellent. NBA on Christmas is a tradition for me. The games in November and December are boring usually anyway. A 50-60 game season will be more exciting.

I won't be around my family this christmas unless we meet on dec 23rd, which is friday
because NFL Sunday has been moved to Saturday, the 24th, and it's a triple header on Sunday with the NBA, Christmas Day
So I know where I will be sat and sun LOL

I would like to see a Knicks, Heat, and Lakers win
Pavan 11-26-2011, 04:11 PM I'll take Boston, Dallas and Lakers. I hate the Heat and Knicks. Bulls I like, but the Lakers will win.
catlover79 11-26-2011, 04:55 PM I'm just happy for the restaurant and hotel workers whose business has been disrupted by the strike. If not for them, I wouldn't care if the NBA didn't come back.

Now I don't have to look at college basketball LOL
dakert 11-26-2011, 05:34 PM I wish the basketball Fans Would Boycott for once--just once :(
Pavan 11-26-2011, 06:27 PM The NBA schedule will change a bit. Right now teams have about 55 games scheduled from Dec. 25 and on. They are planning a 66 game season, so about eleven games each will be added for each team. I think Dec. 26 will have just about every team playing following the opening triple-header on Christmas. I guess we will even see three nights in a row for one team even like we had in the 1999 lock-out shortened season.

Sol, college Basketball is great
James 11-27-2011, 02:05 AM Why?
Because I want to see the league evaporate!
After all, the Dallas Mavericks (one of my LEAST favorite teams) will be able to raise their championship banner! I SOOOOOOOOOOOOO wanted the season canceled so that all of their bandwagon fans would have forgotten it entirely!
Plus, I hate it when college players leave early!

That's a wonderful attitude Monika, I never thought about that, but it's so true. The strike affects more than just the players and fans. But we lost the Sonics several years ago and it hasn't hurt Seattle any, and I don't miss them at all.

Really?
Because Marv wishes there's a basketball team. I'm just afraid that The Cavs may be Seattle-Bound.
Dianne3 11-28-2011, 05:19 PM I'm also disappointed the lockout was settled.
The NBA players are the worst of all the pro sports athletes.
TVFactFan - I have seen many posts where you have criticized something that others enjoy, so if you can dish it out that you should be able to take it.

because it is bad news for hockey coverage, also bad news for the regular programming that it conflicts with (I hate missing shows because of sports overruns)
isn't the last 2 minutes of any basketball game the only thing you need to watch anyways?
