With Designing Women stars Delta Burke and the late Dixie Carter?

I remember watching this show, wouldn't mind seeing it again after all these years.

Funny show. I think I'm missing one or two episodes.

I can still sing the theme song after not having seen it since it originally aired...:)

The singing telegram was funny--

Happy birthday to you
we can't say from who
happy birthday dear Stanley
we're kidnapping you!

I also remember a bit with Nedra that crossed/confused Robert Conrad's battery commercials with Brenda Vaccaro's, eh, femine hygiene product commercials. It probably worked better on paper, but I still laughed. Come to think of it that pretty much sums up the whole series....

Not to mention that the show featured Delta Burke in her prime and most attractive. By the time of Designing Women, she was starting to pork up.

Well, that was...ahem...'daintily put'.

Yes, in answer to the question, I remember that show and really liked it. A great satire of the all the nighttime soaps that were the rage at the time. Wished it could have lasted longer!

It was an unexpected summer hit. A mere three episodes were scheduled, but when it premiered at #1, the network rushed it into production, foolishly holding back the third episode for the fall. Tho the first two episodes had followed M*A*S*H on Monday, in early October it returned to displace Mama Malone on the Wednesday night fall schedule after Alice. It was yanked after only a month but returned again in January, once again on Monday--but this time at 8:30. Preceding M*A*S*H on the schedule never guaranteed being seen in the way that following it did, and Filthy Rich quickly disappeared again.

Man, I wish that Shout! Factory will put this show on DVD as well as "FM" (1989-90), "Jack and Mike" (1986-87) and countless others.

That sounds like a pretty stupid thing to do.

yeah but atleast you will have the shows to watch anytime until there is a DVD release. Edited eps is better than No episodes right?-lol

I already seen the Ropers uncut since someone emailed me the download from this board. And let me just say the show is not better unedited LOL
