I've always thought that people who shop on Black Friday are nuts. But more power to 'em if they can handle crowds like that. I'd have a panic attack.

Yeah, I did it last year and plan on it again this time.

I usually go to Costco for Black Friday for DVDs/Blu-rays/Video Games and looking into things like tvs and computers/laptops.

Last year I got a new HP computer w/ 20 inch HD monitor from them on Black Friday, they have pretty sweet deals.


However, I'm not one of those people who camp outside the store for weeks.

No, I can't handle large crowds like that. I, too, will shop online. :)

Never did Black Friday Shopping and never will do Black Friday Shopping!

I'm going out this year. My daddy, sis and I are going to Best Buy at ten to wait for it to open at midnight and then going over to Target and then Menards. We will then stop for breakfast, come home take a nap and go back out to Kohls and Sears.

Jw, you know which city those pics are from? I live in Toledo, are crowds are bad, but never that bad. However, if they looked like those pictures I might second think going out tonight lol.

I'm that poor employee who *is* working Black Friday. :eek:

This is my 5th Black Friday in retail, but the very first one where I'll finally be working among the mob on the sales floor... I'll be one of the two people manning the queue at my store for the PS3. :faint:

I have to go in to work at 8pm tonight, because we start selling some of the Black Friday stuff at 10pm (seriously?). So, yeah. If you know the company I work at (as per my FB), wish me luck! :seeya: Oh, and this is my first Black Friday NOT at my home store. First Black Friday in a strange town. I've got everything working for me. :lol:

I wish you the best of luck. I like Black Friday too but I think opening at 10 pm tonight is a bit much. You can open at 6 or 7 am tomorrow morning and its still the same. I wouldnt worry because I dont think that opening at 10 pm will last long because I do know a lot of people are up in arms about working tonight.

As far as getting panic attacks, I think those "Commericals" that they've shown 100 times would give me one. Those ones promoting the "Black Friday" sales. How many times do I have to see the woman prepearing for "Black Friday" by getting excited and reading the ads? I dont know if it was for Kohl's or Sears or whatever. I know it was for one of those stores.

Same. Last year I got such great Black Friday deals online. Even if I didn't, I would pay full price any day over fighting the obnoxious crowds.

My husband and I are going up to the mall Friday night but just to pay some bills. Hopefully it won't be too terribly bad. I plan on doing most of my shopping online. Makes it so much easier!

That was by far the easiest Black Friday ever. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to distribute all the PS3s we had (one pallet of about 50 units). It was DEAD in the store by 2am. We got in 3 pallets of XBoxes and 3 pallets of Wiis. By the time I got off work, we were down to one 4' high pallet of XBoxes and one 4' high pallet of Wiis, so I snagged a Wii for myself (blue!), even though I already have one. :lol: I was thinking, "...What Black Friday? That was more like Black Thursday." :rolleyes: :lol:

No way! Like Janice I do most of my shopping online and have it done by the end of October. On Black Friday I stay home and put out my Christmas decorations and put up my tree.:tree: :santa:

I'm not going anywhere near any of that insanity. I dislike crowds on the best of days, and this is far from it.

This is my 11th Black Friday. Even though the store had been open since midnight and I got there at 8am or so, it wasn't too bad. I had noticed some of my co workers were doing their job as to fixing tables and stuff but it seemed like they weren't helping customers kind of thing. I did mention it to my manager before I left but I probably should have told him earlier. I was trying to sweep the store so it felt like customers were asking me for help.

A woman at a Los Angeles wal mart pepper sprayed some other customers.

I Think black friday is joke iftheir anything on sale then mostly the people who work at the store get it first before people get it what get me they camp out all night then the sale not unti like 7:00am or early pluse it only like 20 or 30 prencet off it not much. if you wait two or three weeks they will have the same sale you wouldn't have to fight the crwods.it kind of remiend of jingle all the waay when aronld schwarzenger trying to get free tourbo man for his son he had chase the ball around the mall that my favortie christmas movie.

NO WAY would I wait like that. I'd rather pay more for an electronic gadget I hankered and have my sanity.

But for smaller things Black Friday can be great. Radio Shack had 75 packs of blank DVD media for only $10. They opened at 5:30 am and I was there at 5:40. Best Buy had some 99 cent videos. Bed Bath and Beyond had 20% off the entire store if you got a coupon by 10am. So I bought all my toiletries and gum for next 4-5 months there (btw their prices for toothpaste, deodorant, etc. is lower than Target's). Modells had gym pants on sale. til 3. You get the picture. For stuff like this there isn't a lot of craziness and if you just devote a day to this you can really save a lot. But it has to be done with SANITY (or relative sanity anyways - given you do have to be a little quirky to shop like this - but I saved quite a bit - and it really wasn't that bad)

Don't know how it is anywhere else, but during my Black Friday shopping I saw that it's not limited to just on Friday.

I saw signs advertising "Small Business Saturday" and this Monday is going to be "Psycho Monday".

You have a very good game plan for buying items on Black Friday!

That is why that I always try to get my shopping done early so I don't have to deal with the insanity of Black Friday.
