"Petticoat Junction","Green Acres" and "My Three Sons"from their fairly comfortable (PJ on Tuesday,GA on Wednersday and M3S on Thursday,)timeslots,to Saturday Nights? If they had left them in the slots they were in during the week,do you think tney would have still done pretty well ratingswise?

I think the shows would have done mediocre in the ratings if CBS had left them in their old timeslots. They had been on for years and years and were getting stale, plus it cost more money to keep them going because you have to renegotiate everyone's contracts.
The problem was that CBS was tired of being known as the "Hillbilly" network and wanted to change their image. They wanted to reach a certain demographic (the city folk) so they changed to more urban programming like All on the Family, and Mary Tyler Moore to attract them because they spend more money which makes the sponsor's happy.

All of those shows had more than run their course. Hell, I stopped watching My Three Sons after it left ABC after 5 seasons. I thought it should have ended then.
