This is the season where two big sitcoms: Two and a Half Men and The Office face life after the star of each show (Charlie Sheen and Steve Carell) has departed for whatever reason (we all know Sheen's reason). So how are they doing? Two and a Half Men had a great start, ratings-wise with Ashton Kutcher replacing Sheen. The ratings dipped but it's still the #1 comedy on TV today, which is really sad. It seems like on messageboards, more fans hate the new show than like it. It seems they mostly watch it out of curiosity. As for The Office, James Spader has joined the show, though Michael Scott's actual replacement is Andy Bernard (Ed Helms). The ratings have also dipped some but is still NBC's highest rated comedy (I think it's even the highest rated show in general for NBC). A lot of the fans are also bashing this season on messageboards. Basically, the fans of both shows are a bunch of bitches but that's the TV biz.

So what do I predict for next season? Two and a Half Men will come back for a 10th season. The Office will come back for a 9th season. Basically, since the ratings are still up for both shows, I see no reason for either network to cancel either show especially since they're both the #1 show for each network.

Anyway, from a quality standpoint, "The Office" is better than I thought it would be. James Spader's character is a hoot. But there's clearly something missing without Steve Carell. The show has lost its center and that will be hard to change. I never watched "Two and a Half Men" regularly so I can't comment on that

I was just told by someone at work that Two and a Half Men was still the #1 comedy. So I trusted them. My mistake.

The Office is still the top-rated show for NBC so I'd consider that up. Even if it's not as up as they'd like it to be.

The "bitches" comment was more a joke based on the "fans" over at IMDB who just whine, bitch and complain about the current season.
