I checked out a baby names book from the library and it has everything in it! It has over 100,000 baby names in it. It also has names of celebrities as well as celebrities kids' names. David Hyde Pierce is mentioned in it as a Tony award winner. ;)
Anyway, it even has names of authors, names from history, etc. Well, much to my surprise I found out that Daphne was a Greek Goddess. I had no idea. So NIles wasn't far off by calling Daphne a Goddess because she really was! :D

I had heard the name Niles from The Nanny. The butler on there was named Niles and he was from England of all places! In another weird coincidence, the actor who played Niles on The Nanny was Niles' doctor in Rooms With a View, how is that for irony? :lol:
When I started watching Frasier, I had to laugh to myself because there was a character named Niles on there and was completely different from the Niles on The Nanny. Other than that, I had never heard of the name Niles.
I don't really know anyone named Daphne either, except for a girl I met on the Frasier Facebook page. She is black and just loves Frasier, and of course her favorite character is of course, Daphne! :D
I love the name Daphne and I have considered using it for one of my children, it's such a rare and unique name. :)

Here is her very first appearance, she looks very different with the glasses. The episode is called The Brothers Silverberg. She appears at 8:03. Her characters always go for the nerdy or intelligent guys. :lol:

She was so cute in it. :) I love the expression she gives Tony when he mentions throwing up on the teacher. It was so funny! :lol:

Also, here is an episode of Blossom with Jane as Sheila, Nick's date. She reminds me a lot of Daphne, a little quirky and somewhat eccentric. :) The way she talks about her exes and what she did to them was brilliant. :lol:
