View Full Version : I tried to access this site at my new job and a message came up saying.....
TVFactFan 11-11-2011, 11:57 AM "This site is blocked for Arts and Entertainment Reasons"
HUH???-LOL Since 2002 I have worked for 3 different companies and Sitcomsonline has never been blocked on any of those jobs. That really surprised me yesterday but it was one thing that was not surprising
"Facebook is not blocked"
LOL
Chocolate Moose 11-11-2011, 01:50 PM FB might be next. :(
steevo 11-11-2011, 01:56 PM I find that many companies and even a few educational institutions do tend to block entertainment sites because the organization wants their students/workers to concentrate on the tasks at hand and not get distracted. One company I worked for had YouTube blocked for that very reason.

It should have already been blocked.
Brad Russ 11-12-2011, 10:42 AM i wouldn't think any job would allow you to go on entertainment websites at work. my mom works for Providence, and they block all entertainment websites. What kind of jobs did you have that let you do that? i'm a landscaper, and when i work, i work outdoors, so i had no idea that any company would allow this.

No offense or anything, but why should you be checking out this forum while at work anyway? Shouldn't you be, uhm, working?
And I don't mean to single you out. I notice a LOT of people on different forums will post "I'm at work" or whatever, and it always stuns me that people have so much free time at work they can seek out entertainment. Those people are being PAID by someone for a decent days' work. I really doubt their employers would classify posting about which Darrin was better as something worthy of their pay!

True...unless they are posting on their breaks/lunch hour. OR, have a job where they just answer phones at a desk with no other duties. Then, the internet is a life-saver! It keeps one sane! LOL!
-STEFFY- 11-12-2011, 01:05 PM ^^^ I was just going to post the same thing. He might have been on his lunch break or something.

No I;m done eating by time I come here. I go to the same 5 websites everyday for lunch and like to read and eat when I look at the Post and NYC Dailynews
NY Post
New Dailynews
Philly.com
Usatoday.com
SitcomsOnline
OH Nuts! 11-12-2011, 01:52 PM My job doesn't block SO but it does block the Boggle site (a game.)
I would never post or play a game while I'm "on the clock" but after hours (or before I start) I would look up stuff (like to see who's posted what)
