A report in the Wall Street Journal has Howard Stern in talks with NBC to succeed Piers Morgan as host of America’s Got Talent, working alongside Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne. Stern is a huge fan of the show and has often spoken of his wish to be a judge on one of these programs. It has been a big week for the Sirius XM morning man, whose interview with Brett Ratner was a big reason the filmmaker was prompted to resign as producer of the Academy Awards. According to WSJ, Stern’s looking at $15 million a year to judge.

Why NBC (and/or Fremantle) would even consider that psycho I cannot understand.

Howie Mandel wrote about this in the "Don't Touch Me!" autobiography that he wrote a few years back about the fact that when he was a guest on Mr. Stern's radio show around 1999 or so, he was forced to mention to the whole world that he had the OCD struggle he's going through right now thanks to Mr. Stern having some strange guy playing tricks with a large penis he has (the listeners had to actually guess this special talent themselves, and Howie mentioned that no one guessed correctly), and after he was done, he went out the door that Howie had to go out of as well, but Howie refused to touch the doorknob because the strange guest had his hands dirty after playing with his penis and had dirtied up the doorknob because of it.

Oh, there's no way Howie will want to work with Mr. Stern after that incident.

Dare we say .... we told you so. Howard Stern just signed on with "America's Got Talent."

The King of All Media will replace Piers Morgan, much to the chagrin of those folks at the Parents Television Council, which felt he was too raunchy for primetime.

And producers wanted Stern so bad, they've even agreed to move 'AGT' to NYC -- so Howard can continue working on his radio show.

Fact is ... as we've been saying, Stern is a smart dude who knows his audience and when he should push the limits.

Bottom line -- AGT could become the biggest show on TV.

Was NBC not aware of his disgusting brand of entertainment, including the disgusting joke he made after the Columbine High school massacre in Colorado back in 1999? He should be banned by the entertainment industry!

Howard Stern Responds to Parents Television Council's "America's Got Talent" Concerns on 'Piers Morgan Tonight' (Video)

After Piers Morgan announced that he was not returning to "America's Got Talent" as one of the judges, NBC officially tapped shock jock Howard Stern to take his place on the panel.

Shortly after, the Parents Television Council blasted NBC for even considering Stern in the first place, calling it "an act of desperation for a failing network."

Stern responded to the PTC's concerns on Morgan's CNN talk show Piers Morgan Tonight and didn't hold back.

"Networks shudder for people like this. I guess they get their printer out and they make a letterhead and they start to complain that I'm some sort of weird pervert who is going to convert Americans into some kind of zombie sex fiends.

I can assure you and the rest of America that what I am looking at here is to be a good judge. I watch the show, and I love this type of television, and I think the idea of them coming to me first got started because I've had this long, illustrious radio career. I've also had films, books, music soundtracks... and I think they all liked the idea of me becoming a judge because they all knew that I was honest. Whatever you think of me I'm going to give you my honest opinion.

My goal here is really to find real talent and to find someone who can actually become a major superstar."

PTC president Tim Winter said in the organization's statement that NBC's move will mean "in just over three weeks the network will be standing before the United States Supreme Court arguing for the right to use the F-word any time of the day, even in front of children."

NBC's president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy said on Thursday of Stern's hire a more positive message: "Howard Stern's larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America's Got Talent starting this summer."

I'm a huge Howard Stern fan, the guy is absolutely hilarious. I may actually have to give this show a try next season when he's on. I can't imagine he's gonna be as funny on this show as he is on his radio show because there's censors and stuff but awesome for Howard!!
