Okay I watched the series finale last night. So now I am watching the pilot and the episode that followed it. Are these the newly edited episodes that Nick at Nite altered? I noticed the theme song that opened the second episode that NAN aired tonight, was the newer sounding one that had the harmony. Are all the episodes edited?

N@N is actually taking advantage of the digital remastering here. b4 they were redone, seasons 1-3 were in Mono. Then, when remastered, they were done in Stereo. The harmony-theme was in Stereo, and on NBC/syndication couldn't be used w/ seasons 1-3.(NBC never had a short theme for seasons 1-3). so N@N takes advantage of the remastering(cuz they were all done stereo) by putting the shorter theme (w/ the harmony) with the early seasons, so they can get more commercials in.

make sense? lol

Or they could have saved some time with the editing and remastered tapes of the Cheers syndication package. The episodes N@N has been showing since November probably aren't any different the ones that are still being shown on regular TV stations, except that the eps look better. Plus, it would explain how they could have the short theme on seasons 1-3.

for those of u who saw some syndicated eps, did seasons 1-3 have the short theme in the lower tone, like N@N is showing now? i've heard it was in the normal tone of most of the other themes

I DON'T think its the syndicated eps, only because the themes are not the same as from syndication.(ie. seasons 4-11 used a newer recording that I KNOW N@N didnt use)
