The Lifetime series about female police oficers is billed as an ensemble drama,but the name with the most resonance for television fans is McKeon's. From 1979 to 1988 the actress portreyed street-wise Jo Polniaczek,a pleaseingly rebellious presence among the school girls of the NBC teen sitcom "The Facts of Life".
Now 35,McKeon is portreying another rough diamond,Inspector Jinny Exstead,whos alcohal abuse led to a dramatic intervention on last season's finale. When the second season began,Exstead had returned from rehab to the precinct run by Capt. Kate McCafferty(Bedelia).
