I was raised Catholic but in my 20's kind of drifted away. I became to be blunt a far left, almost communist feminist model. I did a lot of things I regret in my 20's. I led a very untraditional life to say the least. I didn't do drugs but did pretty much everything else. I was so career obsessed and marriage? in my world only people "stupid" enough to be tied down wanted this. This gives you an idea where I was going.
When I turned 30 I literally woke up one morning and told myself I needed to get my life together. So I quit modeling, went back to school, which resulted in getting my Master of Arts Degree. I changed fields completely twice. My 30's were basically getting my life together. I moved into management and actually had a job that was high paying. While I am unemployed currently I have no doubt I will be re employed eventually.
That leads me to this. Almost 2 years ago I was reconnected with an old boyfriend I always thought was the "one". It turned out he wasn't and he wasn't the old guy he used to be. Instead he was a nasty mean guy. However, during my time of being in severe mental pain because of him I turned to prayer. I heard a voice tell me to go back to church and make my confirmation. I assumed this was because of my ex, who came from a devout Catholic family.
I attended the religious classes, and liked everyone in class. I made my confirmation last spring at Easter Vigil. I joined the choir and am becoming more involved with the church. I really like church a lot. Because of this I am making inventory of my life and regret terribly I so far haven't married or had kids but am looking for that now. I may not find it I realize but I feel I will. I have also started to practice the views and am seeing my views really changing and becoming far more conservative. Myself in my 20's would hate me now.
Has anyone else experienced a religious awakening? I realize I am not perfect but am trying to make my life better.
