I recently got a book from the library called "Who Gets the Drumstick" by Helen Beardsley which the movie Yours, Mine, and ours is based on.

I read a book about them when I was in high school, can't remember the name, but has to be the same book. It was in the school library. I enjoyed the book, and the movie with Henry Fonda and Lucy.

I vaguely remember reading this book a long time ago and don't remember it that well, but would love to read it again sometime. I'm sure it's a lot different than the movie. For example, I'm pretty sure that in real life Frank's son's didn't doctor up Helen's drink. But it made a great drunk scene for Lucille Ball. 'Yours Mine and Ours' is a great movie and is one of those movies I watch when I want to cheer myself up.

You are right about that. Frank's kids did want them to get married partly because so Frank's youngest two kids could move back home. :)

yea, I remember hearing that it was based on a true story back when it came out. It was also partly the inspiration for "THE BRADY BUNCH".

Yep after the movie did very well in the box office, the ABC network gave the Brady Bunch the green light to air.
