He is going to have to throw long at some point because when they take the short sh*T away, then he will have no choice but to throw long. And if he doesn't throw long then, the offense is not going to score

But if a defense expects you to always go DEEP down the field, it opens up

the running game and the Tight Ends.


If you are a offense that always throws short, your running game is not going to work at all. So you have to keep the defense GUESSING and if that means throwing down field to NOBODY then that's fine with me. Atleast the defense will know that it's a possibilty the offense will take a shot down the field. Once the defense knows it's no shot then they know it's a easy day at the office-LOL
