"Glee's" Heather Morris Reveals How Dad's Death Led to Her Touring With Beyonce

"Glee's" resident funny girl and dancing diva Heather Morris has admitted that a dark time in her life actually led her to the fame she's enjoying now.
The now 24-year-old star tells Seventeen magazine that as a teen, her father's death resulted in Heather turning to dance as a coping method. That escapism became a serious passion for Heather, who worked hard on her talent and eventually scored gigs as a backup dancer for both Beyonce and Tina Turner before landing her current role on "Glee".
"It made me grow up in a different way," Morris explained.
"My mom and I are really close because of it, so I'm glad I have a good relationship with her, but I definitely went through a lot of phases. At times, I didn't care at all and I went to school in my pajamas and I cried, but then I cut it out and I focused on my dancing. I was in dance class all the time."
Heather's public revelation about losing her father follows yesterday's (Nov. 1) news of her former "Glee" co-star Charice, 19, tragically losing her own father to a violent stabbing incident.
