What if one of the above networks decided to bring back the Honeymooners, but with modern actors and updated...well everything. Who would you want to play Ralph, Norton, Alice, and Trixie?

I really hope that never happens. I know it's a hypothetical question, but I could never accept anybody playing Ralph and Norton other than Gleason and Carney. I've heard Kevin James and John Goodman mentioned several times for Ralph, and as much as I like the both of them, I've seen hints of what such performances would be like (Kevin in an episode of King of Queens and Goodman as Fred Flintstone) and they were both a bit cringeworthy to me. Seeing somebody imitate a character that you know so well, let alone doing the same lines done by said character, is hard to watch. (A perfect example would be Brad Garrett in Gleason.) Paul Sorvino was also attached to a Gleason biopic at one point, which may have been interesting, but he's a bit too old for the part now...not that anything like that is in the works...

I know Seth MacFarlane is rebooting The Flintstones, and Mike Judge just brought back Beavis and Butt-head after 14 years, but bringing back an animated series is a lot different. One of the great things about The Honeymooners, as mentioned in another thread, is that missing sketches are still turning up after all these years, so it's almost like new episodes are being made. There's no need to bring in new actors to do their best Kramden and Norton imitations, or even worse, put their own spin on the characters. (Need I remind people of Cedric the Entertainer and Mike Epps?) So, to answer the question, I wouldn't care to see anybody, whether I like them or not, take on the roles of Ralph, Alice, Norton or Trixie. On the other hand, maybe they can get all the surviving Alices and Trixies together and do some kind of Golden Girls-style special. ;)
