This character is such a great character. I'm watching How Great Thou Art, and Charlene just has this purity to her. When she cries, I gotta admit, it's hard for me not to shed a tear. She is just a great character. How do you all feel?

I am trying to find out more about this lady, I have people tell me almost on a weekly basis, Oh my gosh you look like that Charlene on Designing Women and you even talk like her! Does she have a site to go to?

Personally, I loved this character as well. And you are right, whenever she cries, you cry right along with her. Jean Smart was so amazing as Charlene. And her southern accent was SPOT ON! She nailed it 100%!

Jean Smart is an amazing, nuanced actress. She cannot do a bad performance of anything. I LOVED her on Designing Women, Reggie, Facts of Life, Aileen Wurnos Story, Hawaii 5-0, Mare of Eastown, The Brady Bunch Movie,Sh*t My Dad Says, Frasier, Edie and Pen, and I can't wait to see her on HBO Max's Hacks later this month.
