Andy Rooney, who signed off from 60 Minutes this month after 33 years, has been hospitalized in stable condition.

The 92-year-old commentator "suffered serious complications" from minor surgery he underwent last week, CBS announced Tuesday.

The reason for the surgery and the nature of the complications were not disclosed.

Andy Rooney, the television commentator who spent more than 30 years wryly talking about the oddities of life for '60 Minutes,' died Friday night, CBS said. He was 92.

R.I.P. Mr Rooney - i knew something was up when he announced his retirement, he always said that he would work until the day he died, and he pretty much did.

I always enjoyed his rants, was said that I missed his final one because of football overrun

That's what I was thinking! He had a very short retirement. I guess it's a blessing, he was able to live up to what he always said. :rip: Mr. Rooney.

I didn't realize he was 92. He certainly had a full life.
