View Full Version : In uncertain times, Millennials click back to the '90s SpenceOlchin 10-25-2011, 12:13 PM http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/story/2011-10-24/90s-nostalgia/50898514/1 Nyan 10-28-2011, 06:10 PM >Millennials They keep doing this wrong. I was also born BEFORE the X/Y cutoff in the mid 80s so I'm sort of in that lost generation. Yeah me too. I was born in 1981, so I was technically born before the end of Generation X but before Generation Y. And yes, they always incorrectly label those of us born in that time period. I am NOT a millenial, i am a member of GEN-X. According to this wikipedia page, 1981-1982 are typically the cut-off dates for GEN-X. I've definitely always felt more closely related to GEN-X than Gen-Y. But, overall the article is well done and relates to me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_X ryan423 10-28-2011, 10:52 PM HANSON are great. Still love them! Everyone should check out their latest album, "Shout It Out"... you'll all be surprised at how good they are! Thanks for the article ajgenard 10-29-2011, 01:20 PM Excellent article. While being a millennial myself (born in 85) I've read a few of these types of articles in the last year or so. Ever since my same age friends and I have been out of college and found the job market to be extremely depressing we've all been bit by the nostalgia bug. Seeing how I do not share or agree with the spoiled selfish nature most people my age possess, our childhood memories are one of the few things we can agree on. Reviewing the cultural landscape of the 90s has really taken off the last couple years. The nostalgia is quickly becoming a financial industry. So it only makes sense programming is going to reflect this. It's really the same thing that originally made N@N and TV Land successful with the baby boomers. |
