In "Listen To My Heart," Chris, has a crush on a girl named Allison. Chris gets dumb advice from his "friend" michael, and actually falls for the advice1 I remember Michael gave him the advice, something like "Tell Allison that she looks fat in her dress. She will love your honesty." :rolleyes: :lol: :lol: :crazy:

Chris tells her this, and Allison is upset and gives him the cold shoulder for a while. I was not surprised to find out that Michael himself had a crush on Allison and wanted her for himself, so he intentionally gave Chris bad advice to make Chris look dumb to Allson. If Chris weren't so dumb, he would have seen the advice was stupid. :lol: :rolleyes:

I forgot the name of the book, but a woman gets pregnant by a man who didn't want a baby. He tried to kill the baby by kicking her in the stomach. when he realized the baby was still alive, he pretended to cry and be remorselful for the kicking. She fell for it and forgave him.:rolleyes: He thought, "She fell for my fake remorse? God, she really is dumb." :rolleyes:

i know this will upset many, especially many teenage girls, but i never much got the hype surrounding the Hardy Boys. Just not my thing.

In The Hitchhiker by R.L. Stine, James, the main character , punches his older cousin, Paul, in the face for accusing him of stealing 1,000 that James didn't steal. The girls that were staying with James were like, "He's cute, but too much trouble." Let's ditch him."

They went to their car when James went to another room, and as they were backing down the driveway, James ran out , screaming, "You forgot to take me with you!" LOL. No they didn't, James. :lol:

They reluctantly let him into the car because they felt sorry for him. Now, since they just said he was too much trouble, wouldn't it make sense to hit the gas and speed off without him instead of taking him with them? :roll:

i had no idea they had been around that long. i'm not sure about now, but when i was in grade school, and middle school in the 90's, they were very popular, especially among girls. i tried reading it a couple times, but just couldn't get into it. That's funny, you had no idea they were still around, and i had no idea that they were around that long. lol

Still around. And I think all the original stories have been modernized/updated for both Nancy and The Hardy's. At least I know that the Hardy Boys books were modernized in the 80's(?).

My wife was/is a huge Nancy Drew fan, collects anything to do with her. My daughter is into it too, she says Nancy drives a hybrid now.

I was into the Hardy's when I was younger, and I still like watching the 70's TV version- The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries.

Nancy Drew herself can be pretty dumb herself. In one book, she went right up to the killer and said, 'I know you killed her." The Killer pretended to have remorse, and then whacked Nancy with a hard item!:eek: My sister said, "Nancy deserved to be whacked. You don't just go up to people telling them you know they killed someone else.":lol:

Yes, a couple of years ago I bought my wife and daughter the DVD set of the 4 Nancy Drew movies. They're a lot of fun.
